Arab Foreign Ministers today concluded the 133rd meeting which was held at the headquarters of the Arab League in Cairo, under the chairmanship of Abdulrahman Albdulshakoor, Somalia's Minister of Planning and International Cooperation. Prince Saud Al-Faisal, the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led his country's delegation to the meeting which was also attended by Amro Mussa, Secretary General of the AL and Turkey's Foreign Minister Ahmet Daut Uglu. The meeting drafted the agenda for the forthcoming Arab Summit scheduled for March 27-28, 2010 in the city of Sirt, Libya. Among the issues to be discussed in Sirt were a Syrian proposal to put a mechanism for Inter-Arab disputes settlement. The ministers discussed the Yemeni initiative for activating Arab Joint Action. On post-Lockerbie repercussions, they confirmed Libya's right to compensations for damages incurred by the U.S. sanctions against Libya. The Arab Ministerial Council rejected the U.S. sanctions against Syria and Sudan, calling on the current U.S. administration to reconsider its position. --More
