The City of Abha will greet a large number of visitors this year with blooming of more than 3.7 million flowers and roses, 25,000 trees and shrubs, and 300,000 seedlings. Visitors can enjoy themselves in 63 parks and gardens including green spaces spread over more than 153,000 square meters of land in this picturesque city. Last week, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that Abha is a "Healthy City". In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Mayor of Asir Region Hamdan bin Fares Al-Osaimi pointed out that the criteria for awarding Abha the title of a "Healthy City" included cleanliness of its environment in all aspects, particularly the disposal of waste, non-existence of any sources of pollution, sanitary conditions of food stores, and combating vectors.
