Jeddah Economic Forum 2010 concluded its activities here today. The Forum's 7th session confirmed close relationship between health, economy and development. The speakers stressed that health has been one of the most important issues that affects and is being affected by the economy, development, services and productivity. They warned of health risks, diseases and epidemics awaiting the world in the new millennium, especially in light of globalization, open borders, and movement of goods from one country to another resulting in transmission of infections, epidemics and viruses. The speakers included among others Dean of Faculty of Medicine, Acting Vice-President for Development Affairs at Al-Faisal University Dr. Khalid Manna'a Al-Qattan; Director General of Executive Board of Health Ministerial Council of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Dr. Tawfiq bin Ahmed Khoja; Executive Vice President of Social, Statistical and Environmental Sciences at International RTI Dr. Wayne Holden; and Vice President of Scientific Advisory Board for Public Health at German Defense Ministry Dr. Manfred Dietrich.
