Riyadh-based King Saud Univeristy attained its academic status as the world's 199 best university according to the renowed Spanish Webomatrix classification. KSU also ranked first as an Arab and Islamic university, heading from the rank 21 to 18 at the Asian level. On the other hand, Jeddah-based King Abdulaziz University jumped from 1072 to 496 at the international level. However, some Saudi universities have retreated in the classification.
