An Israeli commando force Sunday seized a Lebanese shepherd who was tending a herd of sheep at the edge of the country's southern border with Israel, dpa quoted Lebanese police as confirming. Police were confirming an earlier disclosure by MP Qassem Hashem about the Israelis seizing the shepherd, Rabih Zahra, 17, near the Bistra farm in southern Lebanon's Kfar Shouba region. Hashem said the Israeli action was a new violation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 which ended the 33-day war between Israel and Hezbollah in 2006. Hashem called on Foreign Minister Ali Shami and the Lebanese army to deal with the incident which he described as a breach of Lebanese sovereignty.
