The Ministry of Information represented by the Undersecretaries of Cultural Affairs will organizes here tomorrow the Second Arabic Calligraphy and Saudi Arabian Calligraphers Gallery at the venue of Prince Faisal bin Fahd Center for Plastic Arts. The Gallery to be launched by Dr. Abdullah Al Salih Al Othaimeen, aims at attracting Saudi Arabian male and female calligraphers and encourage them to preserve the art of Arabic calligraphy in the Kingdom. Director General of the Ministry"s cultural activities Salih Al Majid said that the gallery will include 150 works of 60 Saudi male and female calligraphers focusing on various verses of the Holy Quran, Citations of the Prophet"s teachings as well as anecdotes. He pointed out that the Gallery is one of the most important Gallery of Arabic calligraphy in the Kingdom as it represents an enrichment of Calligraphy, and include the second competition organized by the Ministry with 75 Saudi contenders with 200 works. The winners of the competition include Nasser Al Maymoun, Abdulaziz Al-Rashidi, Ahmad Abu-Surair, Mustafa Al-Arab, and Hawa Almoghaizl in addition to other Saudi calligraphers.
