A Greek cargo company says one of its vessels caught fire in the Caribbean and nine crew members are missing, according to AP. The Aegean Wind was carrying more than 37,000 tons of iron ore from Brazil to Houston when a blaze broke out in the ship"s mess hall at 9 a.m. Greek time (0700 GMT, 2 a.m. EST) Friday. The owners says six Filipino and three Greek crew members are missing. The ship was 90 nautical miles (103.5 statute miles) north of Venezuela when the fire started. The Aegean Wind has a 24-member crew made up of 15 Filipinos and nine Greeks.
