The UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan today visited the UAE force in Afghanistan tasked with safeguarding the delivery of humanitarian aid from the United Arab Emirates to the Afghani people. The minister conveyed to the members of the force the greetings of President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Makhtoum and General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces. He lauded their role in serving the Afghan people and assisting in the reconstruction process. He also conveyed to them greetings from their family members and the people of the UAE, all of whom hold in high esteem the efforts of the forces for upholding the humanitarian mission of the UAE to help friendly nations. The Minister reiterated UAE"s commitment to the pledges it had made at the donors conference in Paris, and noted that the UAE is the largest donor in this field as its contribution stood at US$ 250 million, "WAM" (UAE news agency) reported.
