Rescue teams searching for survivors from a cargo ship that sank off the northern coast Lebanon on Thursday found a body near the northern Syrian shore, Lebanese port officials said, according to DPA. Tripoli port chief Ahmed Tamer said the body found near the northern Syrian shore brought to 12 the number retrieved since the ship sank in rough seas late Thursday. Tamer said some 30 people remained unaccounted for. Hospital sources in Tripoli said most of the survivors were still hospitalized. "So far only two survivors were discharged from the hospital," Tamer said. The ship was carrying 83 crew members - most of them believed to be Pakistani, also there were crew members from Australia, Russia, Lebanon, Syria, the Philippines, Britain and Uruguay. Port officials in Tripoli said the vessel was carrying 10,000 sheep and 18,000 cattle. This would account for the large number of crew, many of whom were looking after the animals, port sources said.
