Four people went missing Thursday after a ship capsized in waters off Shantou City in southern Guangdong Province, Xinhua quoted municipal rescue center as saying. The Shantou Maritime Search and Rescue Center received reports about the capsized ship 2 nautical miles west off the city"s Nan"ao Island at 8:21 a.m., said a spokesman with the center. The ship coded Lianxin was confirmed to have left a port in Guangdong"s Chenghai City with four crew members on board at around 5 a.m.. But no one was found where the ship capsized, the spokesman said. All the four missing were natives of Shantou. The 510-tonne ship, 55.5 meters long and 8.9 meters wide, was carrying sand when the accident occurred, he said. Rescuers are still searching for the missing, the spokesman added without giving further details. --SPA
