In recognition of his role in the support of libraries, information technology, cultural, intellectual, educational and constructional activities and calls for moderation and tolerance, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud was awarded the Arab Union for Libraries and Information prize, it was reported here today. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Faisal bin Abdulrahman bin Moammar, General Supervisor for the Riyadh-based King Abdulaziz Public Library said the prize giving-away ceremony will be held on December 10, in Casablanca, Morocco, on the sidelines of the 20th conference for the Arab Union for Libraries and Information, to be held by Morocco"s Ministry of Culture in cooperation with King Abdulaziz Foundation for Islamic Studies and Humanitarian Sciences. Moammar gave an account of the King"s achievements in this field, citing the establishment of King Abdulaziz Public Library in Riyadh, King Abdulaziz Al Saud Foundation for Islamic Studies and Humanitarian Sciences in Morocco, a branch of King Abdulaziz Public Library in the University of Beijing, China, the set up of King Abdulaziz International Prize for Translation, his support for King Abdulaziz Library program in dialogue of civilizations, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia encyclopedia, and the Arab unified Archive. --SPA
