The International Islamic Relief Organization of Saudi Arabia (IIROSA) - the aid arm of the Saudi-based World Muslim League, in cooperation with Prince Sultan Heart center, Riyadh; Ibn Attufail University Hospital, Marrakech; Ibn Rushd University Hospital, Casablanca, organized pediatric open heart surgeries in Casablanca and Marrakech, Morocco. These surgeries were conducted with participation of a number of Saudi pediatric-cardiac surgeons. Dr. Jameel Al-Ata, MD, Consultant Pediatric Cardiologist, King Abdul Aziz University Hospital, King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah, The Saudi medical team leader said in a press statement to SPA that a dozen of pediatric open-heart surgeries conducted yesterday and today, are cardiac catheterization for a number of children in Ibn Rushd University Hospital, Casablanca. A number of Saudi Cardiac surgeons have evaluated a number of children admitted in Mohammed VI Hospital, Marrakech to decide on immediate medical intervention. The medical-care campaign is among a number of campaigns carried out by IIROSA in a number of Arab and Islamic countries, especially in the field of pediatric open-heart surgery, he added.
