Sheikha Mozah bint Nasser al-Missned, the Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, inaugurated Monday the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) at the Doha Ritz Carlton Hotel. Addressing the opening of WISE, Sheikha Mozah underlined that this inaugural summit and the annual meetings which will follow (in future), assertively renew Qatar"s commitment to education as a basic right in shaping our identity in line with Qatar's strategic vision for the year 2030. Qatar News Agency (QNA) quoted Sheikha Mozah as saying that education is a main and decisive factor in ensuring Qatar"s readiness in facing the major transformations which are shaping our contemporary world. "Therefore, the possession of knowledge and its application to the progress of humanity must be at the core of our priorities and at the forefront of our commitments," she added. "Moreover, education is a key to building a culture of peace instead of a culture of despair for our present and future generations, " Sheikha Mozah said. She said that the summit requires to debate deeply and discuss a series of issues at the core of the right to education in order to draft an agreement on which we can build our next steps. She underlined that innovation in education, which is the focus of this summit should become an achievable and executable process.
