Foreign ministers of the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) started their second meeting to discuss a vision submitted by the State of Qatar, a GCC member, to further activate the role of the group. Prince Saud Al-Faisal, Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led his country"s delegation to the meeting. In a key address, Qatar"s Premier and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jasem bin Jabr Al Thani confirmed the full support of the GCC member countries for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, in confronting the hostilities and violations by a group of intruders on its border. He also confirmed the Kingdom"s legitimate right to defend its territories and citizens, noting that any harm that scratches the Kingdom"s sovereignty is considered detrimental to all GCC member states. Without entering into details, Sheikh Hamad bin Jasem Al Thani said this meeting will be confined to discuss a paper which was submitted by Qatar during the 11th GCC consultative summit meeting to reactivate the role of the GCC march, wishing the meeting every success. --More
