The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia represented by the General Authority of Civic Aviation (GACA) is taking part in the 19th annual World Assembly of The Airport Council International (ACI) & 4th ACI Asia-Pacific Conference & Exhibition, which is scheduled to start its three-day deliberations later today in Kuala Lumpur. The World Assembly is being held this year under the theme of "Above the Turbulence - Sustaining Business Excellence". It is hosted by Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad "MAHB" at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. The delegation of the Kingdom to the event, is led by Prince Turki bin Faisal bin Turki Al Saud, The GACA deputy chief for International Organizations. This meeting will discuss issues related to civil aviation sector led by amendments to some articles and regulations of the ACI"s Constitution to keep pace with the changes and challenges faced by airports and civil aviation sector at the international level. It will also facilitate election of a new President of the Council and a Vice President for a tenure of two years (2010- 2011) in addition to the adoption of programs and activities on the development of airports and to find appropriate solutions to the financial constraints facing civil aviation sector. Saudi Arabia is an active member of ACI, represented by Vice President of the General Authority for Civil Aviation for International Organization in the Executive Board for Asia and the Pacific. --SPA
