Minister of Agriculture Dr Fahd bin Abdulrahman Balghunaim opened here today a workshop on "Secured Usage of Pesticides," organized by Riyadh"s Chamber of commerce and industry. Speaking on the occasion, Abdul-Rahman Al-Jeraisey, the Chairman of the Chamber, said the workshop is concerned with agricultural pesticides, and that it aims at ensuring the safety of consumers from the menace of pesticides. Meanwhile, head of the agricultural committee at the Chamber Sameer Kabbani said the agricultural committee will continue to organize such workshops which aim at tackling the problems facing the agricultural sector. On his part, Minister of Agriculture Dr Fahd Balghunaim said the agriculture ministry has been organizing and registering agricultural pesticides since 1403H, noting that the ministry has been implementing the system of agricultural pesticides issued in 1427H and its executive statute was issued in 1428H. --MORE
