Aqsa Mosque, the Jeddah-based al-Madina said the problem of al-Aqsa, which started before 42 years, is still open for resolution, and the occupying forces have been carrying out their excavation activities around the Mosque. "Moreover, the Israeli occupying forces have been building more settlements and demolishing the houses of the Palestinians turning a deaf ear to the American and European criticism in this respect. The Israeli forces are trying to create a new situation in al-Quds so as to pave the way for Judaization of the city," said the daily. The paper pointed out that the appointment of Mir Barakat, who is one of the wealthiest Jews, as president of al-Quds municipality confirms that he will bring about lot of changes in the city at the dictate of the Zionist entity in the city. The daily said the Saudi leadership is fully aware of its responsibility towards al-Quds and it is keen on the preservation of the Islamic sanctuaries. The cabinet at its regular weekly meeting Monday condemned the Israeli aggression against al-Aqsa mosque. --SPA
