In the presence of Regional Director for World Health Organization (WHO), Eastern Mediterranean Dr Hussein Al-Gezairy; Chairman of the Safety for Medical Sciences, Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Awwadi , and a number of representatives of WHO and specialist doctors from all over the world, the Director General of the Executive Office of the Council of Health Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council"s member states (GCC) Dr. Tawfiq bin Ahmed Khoja opened here this evening the First Arab and Gulf Conference on Quality and Safety of Health Care for Patients. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Khoja who is also the chairman of the conference, said that the three-day event is intended to enhance the concept of improving the health care system and will discuss the issue of medical errors which register high rates not only in Arab states but also all over the world. -- SPA
