Attiyah delivered a speech in which he welcomed the GCC Interior Ministers. He also congratulated the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud; Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General; and Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior, on the safety of Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz, the Assistant Interior Minister for Security Affairs, from the recent assassination attempt. Al-Attiyah pointed out that the Council addresses the threat of terrorism, adding that the meeting will discuss several important issues, particularly security-related issues. Al-Attiyah praised the positive steps taken by some GCC states to support the joint action, especially in the security field. --SPA
