On behalf of Prince Abdulaziz bin Majed bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Madinah Region, Dr. Salih Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance, who is also the Supervisor General of King Fahd Complex for Printing the Holy Quran, opened here today "The Holy Quran & Contemporary Technologies, information Technology Symposium organized by the Complex . In the opening remarks, Dr. Mohammed Salim Al-Owfi, the Secretary General of King Fahd Complex said the Complex initiated by late King Fahd bin Abdulaziz is seeking holding of symposia that enrich the sound scientific researches and organization of meetings between specialists and receive constructive interventions. The Complex started with a seminar entitled translation of the Holy Quran, Evaluation of the past and planning for the future followed by "The Saudi Arabian attention to the Sunnah and Biography of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) and then a seminar entitled The Holy Quran in Orientalists Studies" then came the royal approval to hold the current symposium. The objectives of the symposium is to demonstrate the importance of information technology in facilitating learning and teaching of the Holy Quran and to highlight King Fahd Complex's role in utilizing of contemporary technologies in the service of the Holy Quran. The Symposium includes 5 main themes. They are as follows: - Technological applications in the service of the Holy Qur'an, - The Holy Qur'an related rulings of jurisprudence resultant from utilizing it, -Software tools conducive to the service of the Holy Qur'an, - Technological attempts aimed at serving the Holy Qur'an, - Software and websites aimed against the Glorious Qur'an.
