Germany has donated $ 2.2 million that would be channeled through aid agencies for the war-affected people in northern Yemen, the country's embassy in Sana'a announced on Sunday, according to Saba. The International Red Cross, the UN Refugee Organization UNHCR and the World Food Programme have each received 700.000 USD by the German Government to enable them to deliver humanitarian assistance to those most affected by the ongoing military conflict between the army and the Houthi rebels. The sum comes in response to the call of the U.N. for providing aid to help more than 150,000 displaced in Saada and Amran. Responding to the urgent appeal on the matter, earlier U.S., Britain, France and other foreign and regional countries provided millions of dollars in aid for the displaced.
