A road collapse in Shanghai Tuesday morning has cut off gas and water supplies in nearby residential areas, Xinhua quoted local authorities as saying. The accident happened at a section in Shourenqiao Street, Baoshan District, where a department store was being built. The cave-in section was 200 meters long and 4 meters deep, a Baoshan District government official said. The accident has not caused any casualties but cut off the gas, water and communication supplies for several residential areas, he said. Rescuers are still repairing the road on Tuesday evening. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
