French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner says there is a «wind of medium optimism» over Iran and countries negotiating with Tehran don't want to talk of sanctions, AP reported. Kouchner says that «something happened» in talks last week in Geneva between Iran and six nations over Tehran's nuclear program and «we no longer want to talk of sanctions.» Kouchner, responding to reporters Sunday on LCI TV, said that instead «We want to talk about the heart of the subject: is it dangerous or not this enrichment of uranium?» The minister expressed hope the new climate will benefit French academic Clotilde Reiss, 24, charged by Iran with spying, so that her case can be dismissed. Reiss was freed Aug. 16 to the French Embassy to await a verdict.
