A typhoon churning across the western Pacific continued moving away from the Northern Mariana Islands on Sunday as residents began cleaning up after gusting winds and flooding, according to AP. The National Weather Service says only the island of Agrihan in the U.S. commonwealth remained under a typhoon warning early Sunday. Weather service forecaster Paul Stanko in Guam says Agrihan was hit by the edge of Typhoon Melor, and the warning may be canceled in a few hours. Similar warnings for two other islands _ Saipan and Tinian _ have already ended. Melor was located 145 miles (233 kilometers) northwest of Saipan and Tinian, moving west at 15 mph (24 kph), as of early Sunday. Typhoon force winds of up to 70 mph (113 kph) extended up to 65 miles (105 kilometers) from the center of the storm.
