The White House on Thursday said that U.S. President Barack Obama did not discuss sending additional troops into Afghanistan as part of his principals meeting late on Wednesday. The meeting, which was held in the White House with members of Obama's national security team, was aimed at discussing the administration's road ahead in the war in Afghanistan. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said that during the over three-hour meeting, Obama heard from over 17 other people on the now eight-year war. In response to a reporter's question, Gibbs said that though Afghanistan has dominated the president's foreign policy schedule lately, he is not sure if there are plans for Obama to visit the war-torn nation any time soon.
