The value of Saudi non-oil exports in 2nd Quarter, 2009, totaled SR 24, 049 million, showing a decline of 24% as compared to an amount of SR 31, 538 million fetched during the same period in 2008. This figure reflects an overall decrease that was valued at SR 7, 489 million. In terms of the volume of overall exports weightage, it witnessed a decline of 11%, accounting for 9,772, 000 tons in 2nd Quarter of 2009 as compared to 11,023,000 tons in the 1st quarter of last year. A latest report of the Central Department of Statistics & Information (CDSI) disclosed that petrochemicals topped the Kingdom's list of exports in the 2nd quarter. Plastic products came second. It was followed by Foodstuffs and the re-exported commodities of the total exports. CDSI also noted that the UAE topped the list of importers followed by China, Qatar, India. --MORE
