The Ministry of Health has reiterated that no death case of Swine Flu was reported following the end of the Umrah season in the blessed month of Ramadan and the end of the incubation period of the disease. In a statement released here today, the Health Ministry said said "With the grace of Allah Almighty and the generous support being extended to the health services, the Health Ministry has successfully confronted the virus of H1N1 of the disease during Umrah season this year." The statement pointed out that the efforts of the Health Ministry are going ahead to accurately follow up the disease among the Umrah performers and visitors from all regions of the Kingdom through surveillance and laboratory diagnosis as well as other measures. The statement noted that nine cases were reported in Makkah during the blessed month of Ramadan, 15 cases in Madinah and two cases in Assir region and the northern borders region. "These numbers are very little compared to millions who performed Umrah and the visitors who visited the Holy Places," said the statement. The statement said the Health Ministry has followed up with the health authorities in the Arab and Muslim countries, and it was assured that no death cases were reported. "Moreover, the cases of infection with the disease are very little and limited after their return from Umrah." This provides a clear evidence for the success of the preventive measures taken to confront the disease, the statement added.
