The foreign ministers of The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held a meeting on Saturday on the sidelines of the 64th session of the U.N General Assembly. The meeting dealt with all aspects of relations between the GCC countries and the United States as well as regional and international political issues of common concern. GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al-Atiyyah attended the meeting. Another meeting was also held between the U.S. Secretary of State and Foreign Ministers of the GCC countries, Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, which was also attended by the GCC Secretary General. During the meeting, they reviewed the situation in the Middle East; the Palestinian cause; the latest situations in Iraq, Lebanon, Somalia and Iran, and other topics of common interest.
