The Gulf-European joint ministerial council, which comprises the foreign ministers of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council Countries and their European counterparts, will hold a meeting on May 15, 2006 in Brussels. The meeting will be attended by the GCC Secretary General Abdulrahman al-Atiyyah. The participants of the meeting are scheduled to review aspects of economic cooperation between the GCC states and the EU countries in addition to the current political developments at the regional and international arenas notably the Middle East problem, the current situation in Iraq and the Iranian nuclear issue, human rights and means for combatting terrorism.
