A number of prominent Britons have lauded the political and economic weight of Saudi Arabia at the regional and international arenas. In statements to SPA on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the Kingdom's national day, they hailed the Kingdom's pioneering role in the middle east and the Muslim world. They also lauded the wise manner in which the Kingdom has been tackling the international problems and reiterated the significance of the existing deep-rooted relations between Saudi Arabia and the United Kingdom. Allen Monro, the former British ambassador to Saudi Arabia and who is the ahead of the Saudi-British friendship committee, praised the Kingdom's role in the stability of the world economy. He also lauded the arrangements made by the Kingdom to attract foreign investments and said the healthy investment environment in the Kingdom is welcomed by foreign investors. --more
