Senior princes, emirs and ministers and foreign dignitaries have lauded the progress and prosperity witnessed by the Kingdom under the its wise and prudent leadership In their messages on the Kingdom's National Day Friday, they extended their congratulations to King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, Crown Prince Sultan and Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior. Prince Misha'l Bin Abdul Aziz, Chief of Allegiance (Pledge) Commission, said the 81st anniversary of the National Day of the Kingdom narrates a great story of the founder late King Abdul Aziz who unified this great entity. Prince Misha'l lauded the achievements accomplished since the days of late King Abdul Aziz until the current prosperous era of King Abdullah during which the Kingdom occupied a pioneering status among the countries of the world. Prince Misha'l lauded the reforms and development initiated by King Abdullah in all fields as well as his efforts to assist the needy in and outside the Kingdom. Prince Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, Emir of Riyadh region, said: ‘The Kingdom, government and people are celebrating, in this glorious day, the commemoration of the honorable National Day in the history of this nation and the Arab and Islamic worlds; it is the day of the unification of the Kingdom under the name Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. “It is a shining and landmark day in the history of the nation when this noble people and this holy land united under one name linking them with each other by the bonds of brotherhood, love and peace and it is the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which works as a tributary for the Arab and Muslim worlds providing them with support and assistance for their decisive causes,” his message said. Prince Ahmed Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Minister of Interior, said the National Day is a precious memory for everybody in this country as its represents the day when King Abdul Aziz unified the nation on the bases of Holy Qur'an and Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). On this day we remember the achievements of the heroes of this country and its men who scarified for it,” he said in a message. Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, described the National Day as an immortal day and a precious symbol to remember and to recall Kingdom's stances and the victorious achievements of King Abdul Aziz. “The National Day is an occasion to commemorate unifying the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on a solid basis of God's Holy Book, the Qur'an, and his Prophet's Sunnah,” Dr. Khoja said. Sheikh Hamad Jabir Al-Ali Al-Sabah, Ambassador of Kuwait, said the Kingdom is witnessing one of the brightest stages of its development and advancement. He said the Kingdom has secured a highly prominent status at all Gulf, Arab and international arenas. Several prominent personalities from Britain underscored the political and economic leverage of the Kingdom at the regional and international arenas, noting the achievements accomplished by the Kingdom at all levels. They lauded the pioneering role of the Kingdom in the Middle East, the Islamic World and the world at large, signaling its prudent positions in tackling international routine and hot issues. Those who sent individual messages on the occasion of the National Day include: Allen Monroe, former British Ambassador to the Kingdom; Charles Hollis, Chairman of the Middle East Association; Baroness Simons Batman, Chairwoman of the Saudi British Commercial Council and former British Foreign Secretary; Adam Mohammed Betel, member of the Council of Lords; and Prof. Mohammed Abdulhaleem, Director General and Supervisor of King Fahd Chair at the University of London.
