The government of The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has given great support and attention to the health sector and put it on the forefront of its developmental plans. In a report issued by the Ministry of Health today, it showed that the allocations of the Ministry of Health in the state's budget nearly doubled in five years, reaching SR 25.220 billion in the fiscal year of 1428H compared to 14.756 billion in 1424/1425H. It said that the number of government and private hospitals in the Kingdom reached 387 until the year 1428H, which included 53,519 in-patient beds facilities, noting that hospitals affiliated to the Ministry of Health stood at 225 comprising 31, 420 in-patient beds facilities. These are supported by about 2000 centers for health care. The report noted that the total number of doctors of the Ministry of Health stood at 22, 643 in addition to 1,301 pharmacists as well as 51,188 members of the nursing staff. These are well supported by 26,657 paramedical staff members.
