Nine people were killed on Wednesday after their boat capsized in Badung Strait waters in Klungkung, Bali, ANTARA reported. The boat belonging to Dewa Nyoman Kawi was carrying 24 passengers from the Kusumba beach to Nusa Penida island when it suddenly turned upside down in the strait about five miles from Klungkung. Local search and rescue agency head Ketut Parwa said the incident occurred at around 2.30 pm local time. Two crew members and 15 other passengers had to be evacuated from the sea after the incident and some of them were now seriously treated at a hospital in Klungkung. Those receiving light treatment were general suffering from a shock after floating in the sea for some time before being rescued by a search and rescue team and some fishermen who were on location at the time of incident. Evacuation of some other victims were still being done at around 5 pm.
