King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) has announced that research priorities in its scholarships programs cover postgraduate students, developing research, innovative scientific ideas, technology and small research projects. KACST has invited researchers from both genders in various government agencies and in research centers and institutes to forward their proposals for scrutiny. Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Abdulalli, Supervisor General of Research Scholarships Administration, said 15 topics had been selected for small research scholarships. Accordingly, he said, candidates have to focus on any of the areas of applied scientific research with a budget not exceeding SR150,000. Interested candidates have to provide three copies of the original research proposal besides an electronic copy as per the samples prepared for the program, according to a report published today by the Jeddah-based Saudi Gazette. The same condition is applied to postgraduate students as their research project should be in one of the scientific research fields approved by the university or college. The ceiling of the budget for Master's students is SR70,000 and SR100,000 for PhD students. November 18 is the deadline for receiving proposals for research programs.
