A poisonous gas leak from a sewage station has been contained on Monday, said a senior official of Kuwait's Fire Department. Brig. Jassem Al-Mansouri, the Fire Department Chief, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that 35 fully-equipped firefighters reported to the leak site in Mishref, south of Kuwait City, quickly contained the situation and secured the safety of station personnel. He said that toxic gas levels went up after a malfunction in sewage water pumps, adding that Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipality Affairs Fadhel Safar, who was on the scene, gave his orders to remedy the problem promptly.
