Saudi newspapers highlighted in their editorials today a number of topics at local, regional and international arenas, particularly the preventive measures to fight swine flu with the advent of Umrah season in the blessed month of Ramadan as well as The Arab Initiative for Peace in the Middle East. Al-Madinah newspaper noted that The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has urged the Minister of Health and officials concerned with the safety and health of Umrah performers on full commitment to his directives that governmental and private hospitals should treat symptoms of the swine flu disease for citizens, residents and Umrah performers. The paper emphasized the necessity for commitment to the preventive measures with the advent of the blessed month of Ramadan. It pointed out that experts and health officials affirm that patients suffering from factors such as cardiovascular and respiratory diseases, asthma, diabetes, and cancers can be seriously affected , which require avoidance of the crowded places, including the holy places for performing Umrah rituals. --More
