Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak arrived at the White House for talks on Tuesday, urging President Barack Obama to force Israel to negotiate final-status issues with the Palestinians. Mubarak's first formal presidential meeting in the United States came in five years. White House spokesman Robert Gibbs cautioned reporters to expect no big announcements after Obama's discussions with Mubarak, which were later followed by meetings with expanded delegations and lunch. “This is part of our continued outreach and consistent engagement in order to seek Middle East peace,” Gibbs said. “The president will take the opportunity to talk about the responsibilities that we see for them [Arabs and Israelis] in this process.”
