Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, the Governor of Makkah Region has directed to form a Committee to study the causes of the phenomenon of violators of "IQAMA" (Expatriates Residency Regulations) in Makkah region and to find solutions to deal with it within a week to be implemented after its approval by Prince Naif bin Abdulaziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior. During a meeting with heads of governmental bodies here today, the Governor emphasized the importance of activating all regulations issued in this regard including fines and penalties against anyone who violates "Expatriates Residency Regulations," or assists any violator (in this context). The meeting reviewed reports and studies including statistics on the number of deportees due to their violation of "Expatriates Residency Regulations," which exceeded 156,000 violators since the beginning of this year until the end of the lunar month of Rajab.
