Some 880 expats have been arrested while trying to flee the country under false names. The Expatriates Section in the Passports Department of Makkah region took the action after the men broke various residency and labor laws. Among the expats is an Indian truck driver who is wanted by police in Riyadh for causing a traffic accident which resulted in the death of one person. Lt. Col. Muhammad Al-Hussein, security spokesman of Makkah region Passports Department, said the measures to foil the departure of wanted people were part of a campaign to pursue violators of Iqama and labor regulations. The expats were referred to the Expatriates Section to have their fingerprints taken and eyes scanned. They are now being questioned by the investigations section as to why they gave incorrect information and false names. __
