The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) urgent health meeting on swine flu lauded here Saturday Kuwait's anti-H1N1 campaign which was in line with the Gulf overall strategy to combat the disease, KUNA reported. The final communique of the meeting called for exchanging expertise on how to deal with the pandemic, following the most updated steps suggested by WHO and other international health organization. It called for continuing the PCR Swine Flu Panel diagnostic test for those coming from abroad, adding that measures such as acquiring the vaccine for the flu must be stepped up to contain the disease. The GCC meeting also called for devising a plan to counter the flu in schools and other institutions, saying that proposed plans by Bahrain and the UAE must be taken into consideration as soon as possible.
