Qatar to host Universal Postal Congress 2012

Qatar will host the 25th Universal Postal Union Congress (UPU) in 2012. This came in a vote held in Geneva during the 24th Universal Postal Union Congress, according to a report of Qatar News Agency (QNA).
More than 180 participating countries voted for Qatar for efforts being made by its delegation headed by Ali Mohammed Al Ali, Chairman and General Manager of the General Postal Corporation (Q-Post). Qatar also is elected as member for the UPU Council of Administration (CA) for the first time.
The UPU Council of Administration consists of 41 elected countries members as per geographical world groupings.
