Under the patronage of Crown Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General, and in cooperation with the Saudi Post, the Universal Postal Union (UPU) will organize here next week the 1st Conference on Information and Postal Technologies in the Middle East, with the participation of more than 140 countries. The Chief of Saudi Post Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh bin Taher Benten said that this global conference reflects the care given by the Saudi leadership to the importance of taking advantage of advanced information industry. "This international gathering is the first global postal conference to be held in the Kingdom and to focus on future postal techniques", he said, stressing that the UPU's selection of the Kingdom to hold this conference contributes to strengthening the presence of the Kingdom on the activities map and reflects UPU's confidence in the Kingdom's readiness to host such conference.
