Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi on Monday told his Jordanian counterpart Nasser Judeh that Beijing supported the two-state vision as a solution for the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, according to a Foreign Ministry statement. The two men reviewed the latest international efforts aimed at ensuring a resumption of peace talks on the basis of relevant UN resolutions and the Arab peace initiative. "The Chinese foreign minister expressed his country's support for on-going international efforts that have the aim of readying conditions conducive to the launching of serious negotiations in the run-up for accomplishing the two-state solution," the statement was quoted as saying by the German News Agency "DPA". For his part, the Jordanian foreign minister "underscored the importance of China's role in the attainment of just and durable peace in the Middle East, given its influence on the international arena as a permanent member of the UN Security Council."
