National health authorities declared 25 new swine flu cases on Tuesday bringing the total number of patients infected with the communicable virus to 386, mostly branded as mild cases. Official spokesman of the Health Ministry Dr. Yousef Al-Nisef said in a statement to the Kuwaiti News Agency "KUNA" that the ministry had begun treating mild cases at houses of the patients, in line with recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO). The ministry has taken all necessary precautions to contain spread of the infectious disease, he said, noting that the average age of the patients at the national level stood at 16-35 years, in addition to some cases among children and elderly. "Many patients have been treated and cured of the disease in a few days. Kuwait is expected to receive the first batch of vaccinations by the year-end," KUNA reported.
