Six Dutch tourists were killed and 39 others injured overnight in a traffic accident on the Costa Brava in north-eastern Spain, the bus company said Friday, according to dpa. Five of the injured victims were in serious condition. The accident occurred near San Pol del Mar as 65 tourists were returning from a day trip to Barcelona to their hotels in Blanes, Lloret de Mar and Malgrat de Mar. The double-decker bus carrying them skidded while rounding a bend, hit a private car and then overturned. The occupants of the car were not injured. The tourists on the bus were Dutch citizens, according to the consulate of the Netherlands in Barcelona. One German was also on board. The injured victims were taken to hospitals in the area.
