US chemical concern Dow Chemical Co. reported Thursday a net loss of 435 million dollars in the second quarter of 2009 amid falling sales and restructuring costs, according to dpa. The Midland, Michigan-based company said the red ink came on sales of 11.3 billion dollars, down 31 per cent from the second quarter of 2008. The second quarter loss - compared with a profit of 776 million dollars in the year-earlier period - came after Dow had managed a 24 million dollar profit in the first quarter.
