Ousted Honduran President Manuel Zelaya symbolically stepped across the border into his country late Friday, vowing to reclaim his office one month after the army exiled him. Zelaya, surrounded by reporters and television crews, walked across the border and greeted cheering supporters. Constantly on his mobile telephone, he told reporters that he was negotiating with military officials to allow him to be reunited with his family in Honduras. The country's interim government repeatedly has said that Zelaya would be arrested if he returned to Honduras. Soldiers watched the deposed president cross the border but made no immediate move to arrest him.
