Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak left Cairo today for Italy to join Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi in the opening of the Economic and Financial Forum for the Mediterranean. The Egyptian President is due to deliver a speech at the Forum, which is to be held in the Italian City of Milan on Monday, according to a report of Qatar News Agency (QNA). He will also hold talks with Italian leaders on issues of mutual concern and topics related to the "Union for the Mediterranean". President Mubarak will leave Italy for Paris where he will meet French President Nicolas Sarkozy on Tuesday to discuss issues of joint interest. The two leaders will also discuss ways of activating cooperation projects among the Mediterranean countries in various fields in light of the French-Egyptian co-presidency of the "Union for the Mediterranean", initiated in Paris on July 13, 2008.
