Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulmohsen Al-Turki, Secretary General of the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL), confirmed that the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for dialogue among followers of religions and those who belong to accredited cultures which was launched in Madrid by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques last year receives wide-range positive response of the dialogue-related institutions. In a press conference he held here today to cast light on the meeting of the Follow-up Committee on Dialogue among followers of religions and cultures which concluded in Vienna earlier today, Al-Turki said the participation of representatives of 40 regional and international institutions in this meeting is yet another evidence of the international response the initiative has enjoyed. Shedding light on the outcome of today's meeting in Vienna, MWL's Secretary General said the conferees suggested the importance of forging an international institution to be in charge of dialogue and assigned the MWL to follow-up this matter. He said it was decided to set up a six-member team representing the followers of different religions to select the members of the preparatory committee for establishing the new 12-member or more entity in charge of dialogue in the world. Al-Turky said an international conference will then be convoked to approve the new system on which the international organization for dialogue will be named and established on consideration that the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is an international call. The MWL Secretary General said his organization will conduct, in collaboration with the Follow-up Committee for Dialogue, the necessary studies to establish this institution, including the host country. He drew the attention that the new institution will also discuss international issues including ways to bring about security, peace and justice and the role of family and religion in the stability of societies and to peoples of the world.
