Group of Eight leaders made a strong bid to prevent catastrophic climate change today by calling for global warming to be limited to within 2 degrees centigrade above their pre-industrial levels, dpa cited diplomats as saying. Scientists say that any greater temperature rise would cause irreversible changes to world weather patterns.
